大连开发区第八高级中学是一所年轻而快速崛起的学校,是一所在辽宁省大连市教育界很有影响力的高中。年轻,是因为学校1999年建校,只有13年历史;快速,是指学校2003年就成为辽宁省第二批省示范性高中,是全省第一所以普通高中名义申办成功的学校,当时在省市引起轰动。2004年学校被教育部命名为全国体育后备人才示范中学。2006年辽宁省高中实施新一轮课程改革,八中人抓住机遇,积极主动创新求变,使学校发生了深刻变化。高中课改省市领先,闻名东北。2011年,在课改和党建工作方面,辽宁省教育厅两次表彰大连开发区八中,辽宁电视台"今日
