1969年贵阳医学院医疗系本科毕业,从事本专业临床医疗、教学和科研工作36年,对耳鼻咽喉——头颈外科各类疾病具有丰富的临床经验和娴熟的诊治技术。早年曾到北京解放军总医院进修,具有坚实的耳声电学和临床听力学理论,对突发性耳聋、眩晕症、梅尼埃病等各种耳科疾病的诊治和听觉功能重建具有独到的技术专长。近年来领导本科室开展了耳显微外科手术、鼻窦内窥镜、喉部激光手术以及鼾症诊治新技术和新疗法。主持过贵州省优秀人才省长基金、省科学技术基金、教育厅和卫生厅等多项科研项目。在《中华耳鼻咽喉科杂志》《临床耳鼻咽喉科杂志》等重要期刊上发表研究论文30多篇,副主编本专业书1部(101万字)。担任本学科全国及省级以上多种学术杂志主编和编委。获贵州省政府科学技术进步二等奖1项,四等奖1项和省卫生厅科技成果奖4项。已经培养硕士研究生18名。
