今年5月7日,首届广西兴安“桂林米粉节”降下帷幕,一条振奋人心的消息也随之传出:这个黄金周,兴安县的游客量比去年同期增长98％。“奇迹!真是奇迹!”中央电视台的记者连连赞叹。中央电视台的报道说,米粉街里的店铺一眼望不到头,很多老字号前面都排起了长队,前来一饱口福的食客更是把街道塞了个水泄不通。开幕当天,到兴安旅游的外地游客就达1．65万人次。兴安县又一次引起世人瞩目。而兴安县最引人瞩目的,莫过于2006年在中央电视台举办的2005年度“中国十大魅力名镇”颁奖晚会上,兴安县从全国230个竞争对手中脱颖而出,摘取了“中国十大魅力名镇”的奖牌。组委会的颁奖词是:连接湘水漓江的咽喉要道,两次改写中国历史的神奇土地。一条灵渠成就了中国统一大业,更显示先人们开山引河的智慧。守望陡门的陡军把剽悍的秦地风俗植入楚越之间,所以这里人的性格也刚也柔。古树参天,古巷幽深,水街水清,灵渠有灵。兴安,两大水系钟灵毓秀的地方。
