建设有中国特色社会主义的道德体系，在全社会形成共同理想和精神支柱，是有中国特色社会主义文化建设的根本。本文认为：发展市场经济是我国走向富强的必由之路，市场经济的功利追求必然对社会生活的各个领域产生任蚀，市场经济条件下的道德建设应既适应于市场经济又超越市场经济；我国当前的道德建设要坚持以邓小平理论为指导，把道德责任教育摆在突出位置，这对于引导人们正确认识当前的社会矛盾有着十分重要的现实意义；当前的道德建设要注意克服过分夸大道德规范和道德人格作用的倾向，与民主法制建设和纪律教育协调发展，这样才能有效地扫除社会丑恶现象。
