We report here that after acute HCV infection in the absence of twins of the X-related gonadalbumin (XLA) antibodies that are specific for anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibodies, they do not develop chronic hepatitis with only minor clinical signs and concomitant viral clearance. The authors believe that continuous clinical and virologic monitoring of patients with complete antibody deficiency is valuable for investigating the role of antibodies in HCV infection progression.
