在2000年的墨西哥总统大选中,连续执政长达71年之久的革命制度党被反对党击败而下台。墨西哥的政党制度也由原来的数党并存、一党独霸的政党体制,转变成为多党竞争的政党体制。对墨西哥而言,20世纪是革命制度党的世纪。从1929年到2000年,革命制度党连续执政长达71年之久。其间,革命制度党曾带领墨西哥人民创造了国家统一、政治安定、经济腾飞的“墨西哥奇迹”。然而,自20世纪80年代以来,革命制度党的民众支持率一路走低,终于在2000年的总统大选中败北,丧失政权,其原因发人深省。
In the 2000 presidential election in Mexico, the CPI, which has been in power for 71 years in a row, was defeated by the opposition parties and stepped down. The system of political parties in Mexico has also been transformed from the original system in which several parties coexist and the party system controlled by one party is transformed into a multiparty competitive party system. For Mexico, the twentieth century is the century of the revolutionary system party. From 1929 to 2000, the revolutionary system party has been in power for 71 years. In the meantime, the revolutionary party has led the Mexican people to create the “Mexican miracle” of national reunification, political stability and economic growth. However, since the 1980s, the popularity of the revolutionary party system has been falling all the way. At last, the reason for the defeat of the regime in the 2000 presidential election was as a result.
