This paper combines NAHaskell’s finite-length kinematic fault model with the so-called ω-2 model of K.Aki (his model uses an exponential decay function as the autocorrelation function of the dislocation velocity ), Omitted some minor factors and terms, considered the relationship with the intensity, established a model to calculate the intensity distribution. Using the model and the source parameters given by focal mechanism work, the theoretical intensity distributions of four typical earthquakes are calculated. Compared with the actual observed intensity distribution, the two are basically the same. It shows that the model we set up can not only explain many actual intensity distributions (some are unexplained from geological structure), but also can be used to calculate large area intensity distributions.
