Objective: To investigate the safety of mild hypothermia in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Methods: 40 full-term newborns with severe asphyxia within 24 hours after birth were randomly divided into two groups, 20 cases in each group. The treatment group with selective head cooling therapy, rectal temperature was maintained at (35 ± 0.2) ℃, maintaining head cooling 72 h; control group without cooling treatment. The heart rate, respiration, blood pressure and percutaneous oxygen saturation of the two groups were respectively monitored, and the monitoring data were statistically processed with SPSS 10.0 statistical software. Results: The observation group was better than the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion: Mild hypothermia treatment of neonatal ischemic encephalopathy has achieved good results, worthy of clinical promotion.
