From February 21 to February 21, 1981, an enlarged meeting of the Founding Committee of China Mechanical Engineering Society was held at the Second Guest House in Xiangyang, Beijing. The meeting was overshadowed by Professor Wang Zunming, the vice president of the Institute. A total of 32 representatives from the board of directors and seven professional study groups attended the meeting.
