凡优秀的诗歌一定具有美妙的节奏。汉语是音义结合体,所以汉语诗歌的节奏,是诗歌语言中某种对立的语音形式在一定时间间隔里的反复。我们认为汉语诗歌的节奏是“音节·顿歇”节奏,是有它的语音根据的。首先,运动和静止是事物最基本的存在形式,因而,“顿歇”是最基本的节奏。事物的较高级较复杂的节奏,就是从这种基本节奏上发展出来的。在人类的语言中,顿歇也是一种基本的节奏因素。汉语中的顿歇作为基本的节奏因素尤其明显。其次,汉语诗歌具有“音节·顿歇”节奏的根据有:①汉语音节意义结合的特点;②现代大多为双音词的构词特点;③音节的结构特点,即“辅音和元音的互相间隔”;④声调的语音特性和它辨别意义的功能
