The popularity of the three-coordinate measuring machine is amazing, but at the same time, the user’s dissatisfaction is also growing. The correctness of the method of use; the control of the influence on the surrounding environment; the ultrahigh-precision measurement of complex shapes; and the use of measurement data effects are all required as requirements. This paper addresses these requirements, from design to software and discusses the recent developments in CMM.
