“要想富,先修路”。农村公路建设是老百姓最关注、最受益的一件大事,是社会主义新农村建设的重要内容,需要我们用新的精神、新的作风、新的举措来完成。今年以来,珠晖区发改局加挂交通局的牌子后,全局干部职工抢抓机遇,锐意进取,扎实工作,全区农村公路建设取得了飞速的发展。抢抓机遇,开拓农村公路建设新局面目前,珠晖区农村公路总里程已达354.78公里。2005年以前的数十年里,全区仅仅只是靠村集体融资修了3条水泥公路,总里程不到16公里,有些乡镇没有一条水泥路,部分村甚至连一条象样的泥沙路都没有。我区交通事业发展严重滞后,根本原因是体制问题。2005年5月,区委、区政府抢抓新农村建设难得机遇,果断决策,为发改局加挂交通局牌子,明确职能和职责,为全区农村公路建设注入了新的活力。两年以来,全区累计投入资金495万元,修建了长7公里的县级公路,13.5公里的村级公路,7公里的高标准的泥沙路,总里程达27.5公里。目前,还有4条村级公路正在加紧施工,三条村

Some villages did not even have a decent silt road . The development of transportation in our area is seriously lagging behind. The fundamental reason is the institutional problem. In May 2005, the district party committee and the district government seized the rare opportunity of new rural construction and made decisive decisions. They added the Bureau of Transportation Bureau brand to the Bureau of Development and Reform, clarified their functions and responsibilities, and infused new vitality into the rural road construction in the region. Over the past two years, a total investment of 4.95 million yuan has been invested in the region, with a total length of 27.5 kilometers of 7 km of county-level highways, 13.5 km of village-level highways and 7 km of high-standard silt roads.
