This article describes a cryogenic thermostat with an activated carbon sorption pump. The suction pump is in the inverted Dewar container and is inserted into the liquid He ~ 4. The unit provides any desired temperature in the 0.32K to 3.20K range over a short period of time and stays constant in hours within the same external conditions. In most cryostats using adsorption pumps, the temperature of the evaporation chamber can be controlled by valves operating on He ~ 4 tanks or by varying the temperature of the sorbent. If the sorption container is surrounded by vacuum, the heat transfer between the pump and the liquid helium tank is achieved by exchange gas or hot keys. The activated carbon container in our unit is cooled directly from He ~ 4 or He ~ 4. Adsorbent temperature is controlled by means of electric heaters.
