In 1934, three young Japanese imitated a German Leica camera in a small workshop in Tokyo and developed KWANON (the Roman word for “Kannon” in Japan), the first 35 mm focal plane shutter camera in Japan, which led to the evolution of a brand - Canon. After decades of unremitting efforts, in the nineteen ninties, finally created a world-leading 35mm traditional camera world. The passage of time, and now the camera is not the protagonist of the Canon business, and printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, etc. have become the company’s key products. By 1998, the camera’s turnover accounted for less than 10% of the total turnover of Canon. But it is Canon’s experience in optics, electronics and precision machinery that made today Canon. The winter of 2002, the reporter visited the Canon headquarters in Japan and Oita Canon camera production base, but felt that Canon is through the optical advantages, the spectrum of new glories.
