Today, with dramatic and exciting advances in ophtalmology and instrumentation, there is still an increasing number of patients telling headaches, eye fatigue, neck pain and shoulder pain. This increase seems to be in line with the rapid growth in the use of computers. More and more computers are used by all airlines, offices of commercial establishments, retail stores, and even medical institutions’ offices. It is estimated that there are currently about 15,000,000 people using computers in the United States, 70 million by 1990 and 100 million by the year 2000. This figure is taken from a report of the American Medical Association Science Council, published in 1987
