本刊说明: 我国研究太平天国革命史的著名学者罗尔纲先生,对我馆所藏有关太平天国的清方档案史料极为重视,对其史料价值给以高度评价。早在60年代初,他在认真研究了这部分档案的内容之后,就认定它们值得全面整理公布,并就这些档案史料的编纂方法及出版价值向本馆提出了详细的书面建议。自70年代末本馆开始编辑《清政府镇压太平天国档案史料》多卷本以来,罗先生对其编纂体例及编辑进程更是十分关注,多次接见参加此书编辑的工作人员,详加指导,给此书的编辑以重大支持和帮助。今年元月,正当此书已陆续付印出版之际,罗先生又亲署专函致贺,使本馆同仁深受鼓舞。本刊特将罗先生之专函影印发表,以示本馆对罗先生关怀和支持本馆工作之谢忱。本馆将不辜负罗先生之期望,定会努力完成《清政府镇压太平天国档案史料》多卷本之全部编辑及出版的计划。
The magazine shows: China’s study of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom revolutionist famous scholar Mr. Luo Ergang, the Museum of our possession of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom pays great attention to the historical records of the files, spoke highly of its historical value. As early as the early 1960s, after carefully studying the contents of this part of the archives, he decided that they deserved to be fully collated and published. He also submitted detailed written proposals to the museum about how these archival materials were compiled and published. Since the end of the 1970’s, when the Museum began to edit the “Qing Government’s Archive of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Archives”, he has been very much concerned with the editing methods and editing process. He has interviewed many staff participating in the editing of this book for more guidance, Give the editor of this book great support and help. In January of this year, just as the book has been printed on the occasion of publication, Mr. Luo and his pro-letter sent a letter of congratulation, so that my colleagues in the library are greatly encouraged. We hereby publish a copy of Mr. Luo’s letter to show our appreciation and support to Mr. Luo’s work in this museum. The museum will live up to Mr. Luo’s expectations and will work hard to complete all the editorial and publication plans of the “Qing government’s suppression of the historical materials of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom”.
