The G-20 founding conference, which is attended by the G-8, the EU and some finance ministers and central bank governors from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Oceania, opened on the morning of December 16 in Berlin, Germany. German Finance Minister Hans Eichel chaired the opening ceremony. The World Bank President, the Director General of the International Monetary Fund, and heads of relevant international financial and development agencies also attended.
