衡阳市的离退休干部人数仅次于省会城市长沙,为全省第二。为了丰富老干部的晚年生活,衡阳市委老干部局一直非常重视老干部活动中心和老干部大学建设,用开展丰富多彩的文化娱乐活动和开班办学把老干部紧紧地联系在一起,凝聚在一起。市老干部活动中心每年开设20余项活动项目、市老年大学每期开设26门课程、教学班56个、校外辅导站53个,全年在活动中心和老年大学学习的老同志达到16万人次。市老干部活动中心积极发挥辐射作用,新建了156个社区老年人活动场所和2个县级市老干部活动中心,改扩建老干部活动场地2万平方米;市老年大学也发挥示范作用,兴办县(区)老年大学(学校)113所、老年教育辅导站点610处,创办省级示范校6所、省级老年书画之乡3个。
The number of retired cadres in Hengyang City is second only to Changsha, capital of the provincial capital, ranking second in the province. In order to enrich the old-age life of veteran cadres, the veteran cadres bureau of Hengyang Municipal Committee has always attached great importance to the construction of veteran cadres ’activity centers and veteran cadres’ universities and has brought together veteran cadres and rich and colorful cultural and recreational activities and running schools to unite with them. The city’s veteran cadre activity center has opened more than 20 activity items each year. The city’s elder university offers 26 courses, 56 teaching classes and 53 counseling stations each year.
