Objective To observe the role of hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) in the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B during the third trimester of pregnancy. Methods Eighty pregnant women with positive HBsAg and / or HBeAg were divided into two groups: treatment group (treated group) and control group (untreated group). Serum HBsAg of pregnant women and HBV serum markers were detected by ELASA. Results The detection rate of HBsAg in 7% (3/42) newborns was significantly lower than that in the untreated group (37%, 14/38), and the HbsAg titers and HBV-DNA levels of pregnant women in the treatment group were significantly lower than those before treatment . Conclusion Hepatitis B immunoglobulin injection in pregnant women with positive hepatitis B sign can effectively reduce the HBV infection rate in newborns in the third trimester of pregnancy, indicating that intervention therapy can effectively block HBV intrauterine infection.
