同心县下马关古城墙边,有两口五米多深的水井———大井和小井。大井是供人饮用的,也叫官井,不知是缘于下马关的“关”字,还是因为下马关曾经是县衙所在地的“官”字,井就那样被“关”“官”不分地叫着。官井泛出的水比较甜,出水量大,适宜人饮用,不论天有多旱从来没有枯竭过。小井的水质略有些苦涩,还有些咸,是当地群众专用来饮牲畜的。这两口井其实很有些年头了,相传明万历年之前就已经存在。离这两口井西面不远,有座龙王庙,和“兄弟井”共同构成了下马关旧城一道独特的景致,有儿歌为证“:下马关,有座
