Microwave transmission lines, especially those related to broadband systems, have become very complicated. Inflatable sealed coaxial and waveguide lines, hybrid connectors, splitters, isolators and antennas are very different from simple interconnections systems from a few years ago. Ensuring the performance of these complex transmission systems is a multi-faceted maintenance problem that includes reporting of faults, modifying maintenance procedures, and perhaps the most important requirements - new and accurate test equipment, unbiased measurement operations As well as the description of the measurement results must be simple and many other aspects. From the point of view of using the basic measurement techniques - time domain reflectometry and frequency domain reflectometry and a new technology - three-dimensional reflectometry, and their effectiveness were analyzed. The nature of the new maintenance procedures and equipment is discussed from the point of view of practical, real-life maintenance work.
