In the past decade or so, China’s university library is changing from the traditional model to the modern one. As a modern library, its measurement can be briefly summarized as: modern management tools, network operating environment, digital storage, diversification of service forms, integration of service technology and staff specialization. Throughout the history of the development of libraries in developed countries, from automation to network development has become an inevitable trend. The implementation of automation has changed the storage medium for document information and converted the printed text-based documents into digital electronic information. However, the network has provided a broader world for the transmission of information. It has broken the boundaries between time and space and avoided “physical ”The transmission, so that information sharing can be truly realized. China’s telecommunications industry has enjoyed tremendous growth during the “Seventh Five-Year Plan” and the “Eighth Five-Year Plan” period. The opening of CNPAC has facilitated the formation of a communications network based on the eight major cities of Beijing and Shanghai, The construction of the network provides an ideal means of communication. At present, a number of university libraries have been connected with domestic or international networks. The NCFC Zhongguancun Science and Education Demonstration Network is a successful example, and many schools also have connections with INTERNET through other channels. In particular, the construction of CERNET network has given our colleges and universities a quick and easy entrance into the world of science and technology.
