In September 2011, the largest flood occurred in the Weihe River in 30 years and the highest flood level since the data was measured. Flood control projects in the lower reaches of the Weihe River have undergone a severe test and have achieved brilliant results in breaking the dykes and reducing the floods to a minimum. This paper analyzes the role of flood control in flood fighting and rescue and technically analyzes the reasons for the smooth discharge of this flood. It puts forward some suggestions to increase capital investment, strengthen river construction and construct flood forecasting and decision support system. 1 Flood Overview Since September 2011, the Weihe River Basin has emerged
