Researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have been condemned for violations of the Indian government’s decree stipulating that there is no special permission from the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMP). It is forbidden to export biological materials. An ICMR spokesperson stated that the NIH National Eye Institute (NEI) is collecting patient DNA and blood samples from major private eye hospitals in India.
