Anyue’s Stone Carving has made portraits of more than ten thousand, especially large ones. Its artistic style shows the influence of Central China Grottoes as well as Northern Sichuan Grottoes. Typical in Anyue’s Stone Carving is Buddha Guanyin, unique and beautiful. Zizhu Guanyin, 280 centimeters tall, was carved in the middle of the rock in Pilu Cave, Chiyun Township, its eyes directing downwards a little, its face plump and graceful, its body naked to the waist and its hair down to the shoulders. Undoubtedly, it is the pick of the stone carving of Guanyin of North Song Dynasty of China. Interestingly, you can always get comfort from its eyes when you look at them either closely or from afar.
