I. Overview The year 2000 witnessed an alternating year in both the new century and the old one. It is a common issue facing the international law theorists that international law will face in the next century. At the same time, some memorable important events have injected new impetus into the study of our country’s international jurisprudence. On the one hand, this year the theme of the fourteenth legal seminar of the NPC Standing Committee is international law. In his speech prior to the talks, Chairman Li Peng affirmed the significance of international law in dealing with international relations and doing a good job in the work of the NPC, and pointed out the direction of the study of international law.
