Over the past two decades, the role of international trade and customs administration in boosting trade and economic growth, improving economic structure and increasing fiscal revenue in the Chinese economy has become increasingly evident. By imposing tariffs and other taxes, implementing trade controls and reforming the customs system and procedures, with the support of international and domestic communities, China Customs is trying to modernize its legal system and procedures and make the economic, social and administrative reforms in China contribution.
