青钱柳(Cyclocarya paliurus Batal)是胡桃科的一种珍贵树种,落叶乔木,高可达20～30米。树皮厚呈灰色,纤维状,老龄则深裂;嫩枝有细绒毛。羽状复叶,小叶7～9枚、对生、椭圆形,边缘有微细锯齿,表面叶脉有毛、背面也有毛;叶柄长一寸余,叶轴不具狭翅,圆筒形,幼时有细绒毛。雄菜荑花每2～3穗出于一处,花具有短柄,雄蕊12～24本,为二至四轮列。果穗长6～7寸,果实上两翅合生,形状如铜钱。青钱柳分布于广东、广西、湖南、湖北、浙江、贵州、四川等地。我省仅有零星散生。据调查在闽南永春县牛姆林经营所一九七四年曾发现有5～6株大树,干形通直圆满,生长
