在韦诺尔的基督教医学院及附属医院中,有1208张病床,是设立在一个麻风病流行地区。该区成人的麻风发病率为3.4％。该医院有2％的病床收治麻风病人。每年麻风门诊为4000人次。这些麻风病人与其他病人一样地受到医疗、护理、检验等方面的照顾。因而研究了这些与麻风病人接触中,医护人员的麻风发病率。该医院有2665名工作人员,包括医护及各种工作人员。其中有各种学生777名。来该医院的工作人员及学生开始时均作健康检查,以后每年也作健康检查一次。其中,在工作期间发现患麻风的有24名(其中T型16人,B类2人,Ⅰ类6人)。发病率为0.7％,明显的低于该医院所在的地区。讨论了发病率低的有关因素,并且认为即使是在一所对麻风病人并不作特殊隔离措施的综合医院里,其中的医护人员及学生也没有额外地易被麻风病传染的危险性。
Of the clinics and affiliated hospitals at Christian College of Wynn, there are 1,208 beds set up in a leprosy endemic area. The prevalence of leprosy among adults in this area is 3.4%. The hospital has 2% of beds treated leprosy patients. 4,000 leprosy clinics each year. Like other patients, these leprosy patients are given care in the fields of medical treatment, nursing care and testing. Thus, the incidence of leprosy among medical staff in these contacts with leprosy patients was studied. The hospital has 2,665 staff, including health care and various staff. There are 777 students of all kinds. The staff and students who came to the hospital at the beginning of their health examinations are also checked for health examination once a year thereafter. Among them, 24 were found to be suffering from leprosy during their working lives (including 16 T type, 2 B type and 6 Classes I). The incidence was 0.7%, significantly lower than the area where the hospital is located. Discussed the low incidence of related factors and considered that there was no additional risk of leprosy infection among medical staff and students even in a general hospital that did not provide special isolation for leprosy patients.
