辐射育种是农业上和平利用原子能的一个重要方面,是继系统选种和杂交育种后发展起来的一项育种新技术。我国辐射育种工作是一九五八年在总路线、大跃进和人民公社三面红旗照耀下开展起来的。十多年来先后选育了水稻、小麦、玉米、大豆、高粱、棉花、油菜等作物上百个新品种。各地实践证明,用辐射方法选育农作物新品种是有效的。
Radiation breeding is an important aspect of the agricultural use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes. It is a new breeding technology developed after system selection and crossbreeding. Radiation breeding in our country was carried out in 1958 under the triumphant red flag of the general line, the Great Leap Forward and the people’s communes.
