Firms adjust through sales and marketing strategies to buck the trend in a weak economy The drastic economic upheaval of the past few years has had some impact on how time-saver companies sell their products and which consumers are targeted. Some companies have changed their strategy and have made them excel in harsh economic conditions. “We have had great results in a good economy, and recently we’ve made historic achievements in the most challenging economic conditions in decades,” said Tom Marriott, senior vice president of sales operations for Marriott Hotels Gernigger said. “This is a direct result of our sales leadership, sales force and sales development and training programs. ”
