Due to the outbreak of hog cholera in South Korea, the Philippine government will still impose a ban on the import of Korean pork although Korean pork has been declared without foot-and-mouth disease. Although pork has been identified as free from foot-and-mouth disease in accordance with the international statistical standards for animal epidemics, the Philippine government still decided not to process animal quarantine certificates and import permits during the period due to the outbreak of swine fever in South Korea.
