In the new century, the tide of globalization has pushed the international division of labor to deepen. The world economy has shown greater vitality than ever before. The international political and economic situation is changing. The world energy order is changing. The world oil market is also changing. Emerging markets and developing countries have gradually become the powerful engines of world economic growth and have stimulated the growth of consumption of various natural resources. In the context of high oil prices, the growth of domestic and international economic growth and energy (oil) consumption are still strong, which puts limited resources under greater supply pressure. Against this background, the Editorial Department of “International Petroleum Economy” held the “Symposium on the Petroleum Market in 2007” in Beijing from November 30 to December 1, 2006.
