2个菠萝新品种目前正在菲律宾棉兰岛省试种。一个名为超甜小吃菠萝“Ulam”和另一个名为MD-2的品种。菲律宾农业部引进了该新品种,以扭转下降的菠萝产量。一部分人认为菠萝产量下滑的原因是一直以来种植者只有一种名为Formose的菠萝品种供选择。新引进的“Ulam”品种被认为类似于Formose菠萝,味道很甜。然而不同的地方是,核心是软的,可供食用。杂交品种MD-2口感格外香甜。2个品种都可以在400-800m的高海拔地区进行种植。
Two new varieties of pineapples are currently being planted in the province of Medan, the Philippines. A variety called Super Sweet Snack Pineapple “Ulam” and another called MD-2. The Philippine Department of Agriculture introduced the new variety to reverse the decline in pineapple production. Some people think the reason for the decline in pineapple production is that growers have long been the only one to choose from a variety of pineapples called Formose. The newly introduced “Ulam” variety is considered similar to the Formose pineapple and tastes sweet. The difference, however, is that the core is soft and ready for consumption. Hybrid varieties MD-2 taste exceptionally sweet. Both varieties can be planted in 400-800m high altitude areas.
