Lines play an important role in the modeling of traditional Chinese character painting. Lines are the main spirit of a painting and play an important role in the outline. It relates to the completeness and quality of the entire work. In the early period, the method of using single-line ink was adopted. The colors were relatively simple. Through the innovation and improvement of ancient painters, the introduction of Buddhist techniques and the introduction of techniques in the western region made the lines of fine brushstrokes become more and more abundant. Yuan and Ming dynasties, because no longer the mainstream figure painting is replaced by the literati painting, its development is only slightly retro based on the previous improvement. In the modern era, the subjects of meticulous figure painting are diverse, the color changes are increasingly enriched, and the influence of western realism is exerted. With the joint action of internal forces and western external forces, contemporary Chinese figure sketches have developed even further .
