我有记事能力的时候就认识并记住了斑鸠,像辨识家乡的各种鸟儿一样,不足为奇。斑鸠在我的滋水家乡的鸟类中,是最朴拙最不显眼近乎丑陋的一种鸟。灰褐色的羽毛比不得任何一种鸟儿,连麻雀的羽翅上的暗纹也比不得。没有长喙和高足,比不得啄木鸟和鹭鸶。没有动人的叫声,从早到晚都是粗浑单调的“咕咕咕——咕咕咕”的声音。它的巢也是我所见过的鸟窝中最简单最不成型的一种,简单到仅有可以数清的几十根柴枝,横竖搭置成一个浅浅的潦草的
