汉语和汉字是中华民族的伟大创造,是中华全体儿女共同继承的民族遗产。然而,由于曾经隔绝对立并经历了不同的社会发展,海峡两岸在汉语言文字的具体使用和外来词语的翻译使用上,出现了部分字词的形、音、义差异。虽说这一差异早就引起关注,但直到2009年“第五届两岸经贸文化论坛”发表《共同建议》,才明确提出两岸合编中华语文工具书等语言文字方面的倡议。至此,2010年初,两岸分别成立小组,开始启动合作编纂工作。
Chinese and Chinese characters are the great creations of the Chinese nation and are the common heritage of all Chinese children. However, since the two countries have been isolated from each other and experienced different social developments, differences in the form, tone and meaning of some words have appeared in the specific use of Chinese language and the translation and use of foreign words in both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Although this difference has long been a cause of concern, it was not until 2009 that the Fifth Cross-Strait Economic and Cultural Forum issued a joint proposal to explicitly put forward proposals on languages such as the Chinese language reference books compiled by the two sides of the Strait. So far, in early 2010, the two sides of the Taiwan Strait set up a group respectively to start the work of compiling and collaborations.
