随着我国改革开放的不断深化,外语教学,尤其是英语教学得到相当重视。阅读教学作为大学英语教学的重要组成部分,新的《大学英语教学大纲》(1986)对此提出了相当高的要求。《大纲》要求本科生到毕业时要“掌握较高的阅读技能,能够顺利阅读,并正确理解一般题材,语言难度较高的文章,速度达到每分钟70词。在阅读难度略低,生词不超过总词数3%的材料时,速度每分钟达到120词,阅读理解率不低于70%。”然而,要达到这个目标是很不容易的,我们还面临着许多困难和实际问题。笔者想就有关方面的问题作几点肤浅的探讨。
