渾儀是我國現存的古代天文儀器之一。漢代以來,歷代掌理天象的官史,都以渾儀爲主要的觀測儀器。現在的這個渾儀,是明代正統二年(公年1437年)造的,先在南京用木頭做成模型,再運到北京用銅鼓鑄的。1900年帝國主義“八國聯軍”武裝進攻中國的時候,這渾儀曾經被德國侵略者劫盜出去,直到1921年由於我國的力爭,才根據了凡爾賽條約運返我國,現在陳列在南京紫金山天文台上。我們祖國在各門科學技術上都有不少的創造,渾儀就是一個很好的證明。
Armillary sphere is one of the ancient astronomical instruments in existence in our country. Since the Han dynasty, the official history of the celestial bodies in various dynasties has used the celestial globe as the main observational instrument. The present armillary sphere was made in the Ming Dynasty with two years of orthodoxy (1437, the first year of the Ming Dynasty). It was first modeled in wood in Nanjing and transported to Beijing for bronze casting. When the imperialist “Eight-Power Allied Forces” attacked China in 1900, this apparatus was robbed by the German invaders until it was shipped back to our country under the Treaty of Versailles in 1921 because of our efforts. It is now on display at the Nanjing Purple Mountain Observatory . Our country has a lot of science and technology in all creation, the instrument is a very good proof.
