英国威尔士大学的科林·贝克博士是世界最著名的双语教育权威之一,著有12本有关双语和双语教育的专著和五十多篇双语教育方面的论文。其中《双语和双语教育的基本原理》堪称目前国外双语教育理论方面最具影响的专著。文章译自他的《家长和教师双语教育指导手册》一书。该书自1995年问世以来已再版了三次,专门为家长和教师科学地认识双语现象,正确地对待双语教育及双语教学的规律和世界各国开展的双语教学实践进行了精辟的阐述。
Colin Baker, of the University of Wales, is one of the world’s best-known bilingual education authorities with over 12 monographs on bilingual and bilingual education and over 50 bilingual education articles. Among them, “the basic principles of bilingual and bilingual education” can be regarded as the most influential monograph in the current theory of bilingual education in foreign countries. The article is translated from his book, Parents and Teachers Guide to Bilingual Education. The book has been reprinted three times since its publication in 1995. It specifically addresses the scientific understanding of bilingual phenomena by parents and teachers, correctly addresses the laws of bilingual education and bilingual teaching, and provides a brilliant account of bilingual teaching practices in various countries in the world.
