人间画会是解放前在香港由一群年轻画家自愿结合的民间组织,由中共华南局文委直接领导,成立于1947年,共有成员四十余人。会长是张光宇,第一任秘书是特伟,第二任秘书是黄新波。人间画会成立两年多的时期,曾举办过好几次大规模的集体画展和会员个人画展,发表过多次进步宣言,在社会上引起过很大反响。特别是在1949年中华人民共和国成立后集体创作的一幅毛泽东主席巨幅画像(题为《中国人民站起来了！》)可称是一幅划时代的历史性的巨构。
It is a non-governmental organization voluntarily combined by a group of young painters in Hong Kong before the liberation. It was directly led by the Central Military Commission of South China Bureau of CPC and was founded in 1947 with more than 40 members. The president is Zhang Guangyu, the first secretary is Tewei, the second secretary is Huang Xinbo. During the period of more than two years since the founding of the People’s Painting Society, there have been numerous large-scale mass exhibitions and solo exhibitions of individuals held and more than one declaration of progress made in the society, which aroused great repercussions in society. In particular, a huge portrait of Chairman Mao Zedong (entitled “The Chinese people stand up!”) Collectively created after the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949 can be described as an epoch-making historical monolith.
