一九七○年我国研制敷设了第一条长距离24ZDL海底电缆通信系统,至今在我国沿海、岛屿之间已建成了初具规模的海缆通信网,并沟通了和国外的海底电缆通信系统,为祖国四化和国防建设发挥了很大作用。 我国海缆大多数敷设于浅海区,易受船锚、捕鱼作业损坏发生故障,一旦发生故障后如何迅速、准确地测试出故障点是尽快修复线路压缩障碍历时的关键。按24ZDL海缆通信系统的技术性能,在海缆发生故障时,只能在A、B两个陆上终端站选测海底无人增音机遥测信号,判定故障发生在某两个无人增音机之间(即长度50公里的无人增音段内)。对维护部门来说在这样长的范围内修海缆故障将会无从着手,而需要进一步测试判断出故障点的准确
