武汉钢铁设计研究院与湘潭钢铁厂于1985年2月鉴订了“高炉热风炉热风出口和三岔管口组合砖试制”协议,由武汉钢铁设计研究院提出方案和设计,湘钢负责组合砖制作工艺手段。经双方两年的密切配合,已试制成10套组合砖用于广钢255m~3和湘钢750m~3高炉热风炉大修工程,砖的质量指标达到或超过热风炉用高铝砖的国家标准,得到用户好评。热风炉组合砖方案是以母砖为基础,按照整体外形要求,将母砖组合一起进行设计和制造。试制成功的特异型耐火制品与热风炉组合砖在制造工艺上有两个特点:一是采用了泥料真空处理和离心浇注成型,解决了一般浇注成型体积密度不高和脱模时间长的问题,使内部结构比半干法成型更为致密均匀;二是利用石膏易于加工的特点和组合造型方法,解决了模具制造难题,为一砖一模难于生产的组合砖找到了生产捷径。
