Centennial Mihe was discovered in 1970 and was named Centennial Mine because of the centennial celebration of Manitoba this year. The ore body is quite small with about 2 million tons of ore reserves. To the length of 130 ~ 200 meters, the width of 3-18 meters, inclined 75 degrees. Low grade and cheap metal prices require low mining costs. Mining is carried out according to the conventional sub-mining method. Due to the fact that the entire ore body is buried beneath a large lake, it is necessary to avoid affecting the earth's surface and to fill it with hydraulic filling material. The vertical deep-hole pellet mining method is now being adopted at Hudson Bay Mines and Smelting Ltd. and is being rolled out.
