The original full name of “Shen Bao” was published by Shanghai-based British businessman Ernest Major in 1872, and was discontinued in 1949 for a total of 78 years. It was the longest publication period in modern China, The newspapers most influential have an important place in the history of Chinese news and social history. Due to the “declaration” witnessing and recording the complicated development course of China since late Qing Dynasty, it has been called the “Encyclopedia” that studies the modern history of China. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the study on the “declaration” has been continuously carried out and the results have been quite satisfactory. So far, however, there have been only a few articles on the compilation of such achievements. It is intended to make a general review of the research on “reporting” in the past decade in mainland China so as to provide some helpful help for readers to understand and study “reporting.”
