On September 12, 1996, at the International Broadcasting Conference (IBC) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, HP announced that its broadcast server supports cluster interconnect technology, providing users with 24 broadcast channels. Allegedly, this is the maximum number of channels the server in the broadcast industry can provide. With HP Media Stream as the core, broadcasters get a true, scalable system - from 2 to 24 channels - opening up new areas of application for digital service technology.
