In this paper, the sensitive chromogenic reaction of the new color reagent 4- (2-benzothiazolylazo) pyrogallol with Ti (Ⅳ) and CTMAB was studied in detail. The complex has a λ max = 580 nm, View molar extinction coefficient of 7.01 × 10 ~ 4. Beer’s law is obeyed in the range of 0 ~ 18μg / 25ml for titanium, and the proposed method has been used satisfactorily for the determination of trace titanium in steel
