Determination of Trace Impurities Arsenic, Antimony and Tin in High Purity Gold by Electrothermal Atomic Absorption Spectrometry. Graphite Furnace and Tungsten Tube Atomizer were compared. In the chloride-containing solution after separation of gold with hydrazine, tungsten tubes allow higher concentrations of chloride than graphite furnaces. The steps for separating gold from hydrazine are as follows: Weigh 0.25 g gold, pickle with (1 + 1) nitric acid, place in a conical flask, dissolve with aqua regia and evaporate to near dryness with an infrared heater.
