高垄低畦带状间种小麦,是在6尺1带间种(或称“龙式麦”)基础上发展而来的。与“龙式麦”比较,小麦的种植带变窄,由原来的3尺宽畦种6行,改为1.5尺(或1.7尺)种3行。种小麦的垄不是将原垄简单地搂平,而是要作成高垄低畦的形式。海城县西柳公社近几年用高垄低畦整地机,一次能作出两个高垄一个低畦(垄高出畦面半尺左右),垄上种玉米,畦里种小麦,玉米不减产,小麦创高产。1981年海城县小麦平均亩产288斤,而西柳公社带状间种小麦平均亩产515斤,其中苏家大队59亩小麦平均亩产1,004斤。
