近10多年来,世界上移动通信的发展突飞猛进。社会经济的发展,需要快捷、方便地交换信息;科技的进步,又促进了各种先进的移动通信系统与设备不断涌向市场。目前,移动通信大家庭的主要成员有蜂窝通信、无线寻呼、无绳电话与集群通信等,它们已与人们工作、生活息息相关,为实现“无论何时何地均能和任何人建立全时空信息交换的个人通信”打下了基础。现时,人们对移动通信的各个类别有多种称呼,其中有些是从港台传来的俗称,尚未规范化。
